UPSC IFS Prelims 2026 Result Out: 1046 Candidates Qualified for Indian Forest Service Mains – Check Roll Numbers & Next Steps

New Delhi: June 16, 2026: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially announced the results of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 for admission to the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination, 2026.

According to the official press release issued by PIB Delhi, a total of 1,046 candidates have qualified for the next stage. This is significantly lower than last year’s 2,116 shortlisted candidates for 150 vacancies, indicating a highly competitive selection ratio this year.

• Total Qualified Candidates: 1,046

• Vacancies Notified: 80

• One Roll Number Withheld: 6300119 (due to ongoing court case)

• Exam Date: 24 May 2026

• Result Declared: 16 June 2026

Provisional Candidature Note: All qualified candidates have provisional admission to the Mains. Final selection is subject to document verification and medical fitness.

What Qualified Candidates Must Do Now (Important)

UPSC has opened a window for qualified candidates to:

1. Submit Rs. 200 application fee (exempt for Female, PwBD, SC & ST candidates)

2. Update/Submit Scribe details, assistive devices, and large font question paper requirements

3. Fill Cadre Preference for Indian Forest Service

Mandatory Action: All qualified candidates must login to the UPSC portal — https://upsconline.nic.in — during the upcoming window, update details, and submit the application form. Failure to do so will result in non-issuance of e-Admit Card for Mains.

Candidates who have no changes to make must also login and re-confirm their details.
