Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya launches Centre of Excellence in Transport Safety

India’s first and only university dedicated to the transportation and logistics sector, GSV (Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya) has launched the Centre of Excellence in Transport Safety (CoETS).
Sponsored by the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, this Central University initiative aims to transform transportation safety across the nation.
The Centre of Excellence in Transport Safety (CoETS) is being established in response to the pressing need for improved safety measures in the transportation sector.

Despite advancements, road accidents in India continue to disproportionately affect young adults, causing significant social and economic impacts. Similarly, while railway safety has improved, there is still much work to be done.
GSV’s unique mandate focuses on enhancing the multimodal logistics ecosystem, covering all modes of transport including rail, road, air, water, ports, and shipping.
The Centre will address infrastructure (technology), services (management), and regulatory reforms (policy) to boost the performance of India’s logistics sector.
