ACC Approves Premature Repatriation of DFS Joint Secretary

New Delhi:  The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal for the premature repatriation of Shri Prashant Kumar Goyal, IAS, to his parent cadre, according to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

Shri Goyal, a 2007-batch IAS officer of the Tripura cadre, is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Financial Services. As per the order, the repatriation has been approved with the imposition of an extended “cooling-off” period.

The decision was conveyed through an office memorandum issued by the Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

About Cooling-Off Period

In administrative terms, a cooling-off period restricts an officer from taking up certain central postings or assignments immediately after repatriation. The duration and conditions of such a period are governed by existing service rules and are decided on a case-by-case basis by the competent authority.
