Air India Appoints Senjam Raj Sekhar as Global Head of Communications
New Delhi, February 2026: Air India has announced key leadership changes as part of its ongoing transformation journey, appointing Senjam Raj Sekhar as Global Head of Communications and naming Partha Ghosh as Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer.
The appointments reflect the airline’s continued focus on strengthening leadership capabilities as it expands its global footprint under the Tata Group.
Senjam Raj Sekhar to Lead Global Communications
Senjam Raj Sekhar takes charge of Air India’s global communications function, where he will oversee brand messaging, media strategy, internal communications, and corporate reputation management across markets.
He brings over two decades of experience in corporate communications and brand leadership. Prior to joining Air India, Sekhar held senior communications roles across leading Indian and multinational organisations, building expertise in corporate reputation, crisis management, and strategic brand positioning.
His appointment comes at a critical stage in Air India’s transformation, as the airline modernises its fleet, upgrades onboard services, expands international routes, and repositions its global brand identity.
Partha Ghosh Moves to Strategic Advisory Role
Partha Ghosh, who previously served as Global Head of Communications, has transitioned into the role of Advisor to CEO and Managing Director Campbell Wilson.
In his new capacity, Ghosh will work closely with the CEO’s office on strategic initiatives and transformation priorities. During his tenure leading communications, he played a key role in managing brand transitions, corporate messaging, and stakeholder engagement during a period of significant change for the airline.
The move ensures continuity while also allowing the communications function to evolve under new leadership.
Leadership Strengthening Amid Transformation
Since its return to the Tata Group in 2022, Air India has been executing a comprehensive revival strategy that includes:
-
Fleet modernization and large aircraft orders
-
Cabin and service upgrades
-
Network expansion across key global markets
-
Strengthened global partnerships
The leadership changes in the communications and executive advisory functions align with the airline’s broader objective of building a future-ready, globally competitive carrier.
As Air India continues its multi-year transformation programme, the company is focusing not only on operational improvements but also on reinforcing its corporate governance and leadership depth.
