Power Minister Manohar Lal Visits NHPC Booth at AI Impact Summit 2026
New Delhi — Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Hon’ble Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, visited the booth of NHPC Limited at the Ministry of Power Pavilion during the AI Impact Summit 2026, currently being held at Bharat Mandapam.
During his visit, the Minister was briefed on NHPC’s initiatives in the field of Artificial Intelligence, with particular focus on the company’s AI-based Early Warning System. The system has been developed to enhance operational efficiency, improve dam safety mechanisms, and strengthen disaster preparedness through real-time data monitoring and predictive analytics.
Officials explained how the AI-driven platform enables timely alerts by analysing large volumes of operational and environmental data. The technology is designed to support proactive decision-making, minimise risk, and ensure infrastructure resilience across hydropower projects.
The Minister appreciated NHPC’s efforts in integrating advanced digital technologies into power sector infrastructure management. He noted that such initiatives contribute to improved safety standards, operational optimisation, and sustainable development in the energy sector.
NHPC has been steadily incorporating digital solutions and automation tools across its operations, aligning with the broader national vision of leveraging Artificial Intelligence for infrastructure modernisation and public safety enhancement.
The visit highlights the government’s focus on promoting AI adoption within critical infrastructure sectors, including hydropower and energy management.
