New Delhi: NTPC Talcher Kaniha, in collaboration with the Government of Odisha and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) 3rd Battalion, Munduli, conducted an awareness programme focusing on familiarisation and community awareness preparedness on 04th February 2026. The exercise took place in the township Auditorium.
The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Shri K. Narasimha Reddy, ED (Talcher Kaniha); Dr. Ramesh Kumar Behera, Dy. Director, Factories & Boilers, Angul; Shri Madhab Chandra Mallick, Asst. Director of Factories & Boilers; along with District Emergency Officials of Angul District. Around 300 participants attended and benefited from this awareness initiative, including NTPC Employees, CISF, union and association members, school principals, township school children, local villagers, contract workers, and township security personnel.
During the event, various demonstrations were carried out and explained by the NDRF team. Briefing was done by the Team Commander of NDRF Munduli, Shri Rajiv Acharya, on the dos and don’ts to be followed during various natural and man-made emergency situations. The programme also highlighted precautions to be taken during road accidents, first aid for injuries, fractures, drowning, earthquakes, snake bites, etc.
In his concluding remarks, Shri Reddy expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in the successful completion of the event. He praised the NDRF for initiating this important exercise and acknowledged the involvement of everyone present and stated that This exercise is extremely beneficial for the site and will aid in future disaster management preparedness.
