Tata Group Taps OpenAI to Build Next-Gen AI Infrastructure in India
Mumbai, 19 February 2026 – The Tata Group, through Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has entered into a foundational partnership with OpenAI to drive AI-powered innovation across enterprises, consumers, and social sectors. This multi-dimensional collaboration aims to accelerate AI adoption in India and globally, spanning AI infrastructure, industry solutions, and skill development programs.
The partnership was announced today by TCS (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) and OpenAI, signaling a major milestone in India’s vision to become a global AI hub.
Key Highlights of the TCS–OpenAI Partnership

Enterprise AI for Tata Group Employees: Thousands of Tata Group employees will gain access to Enterprise ChatGPT, boosting productivity and innovation. TCS will also integrate OpenAI’s Codex to enhance software engineering outcomes across the Group.

Industry-Specific Agentic AI Solutions: Combining OpenAI’s Agentic AI capabilities with TCS’s deep domain knowledge, the partnership will develop tailored AI solutions for industries including manufacturing, healthcare, finance, and consumer products.

Joint Go-to-Market Initiatives: TCS and OpenAI will collaborate to deploy AI solutions globally, helping organizations accelerate digital transformation with customized AI platforms.

AI Infrastructure Development: TCS’ HyperVault unit will work with OpenAI to build AI infrastructure in India with 100MW capacity initially, scalable up to 1GW. The infrastructure will support next-generation AI workloads, positioning India as a global AI hub.

Social Impact & Youth Training: The partnership includes initiatives to train over 1 million Indian youth in AI, providing them with technology toolkits and resources to apply AI responsibly.
