Mumbai, 2 February 2026 – Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), India’s premier aerospace manufacturer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Russia’s Public Joint Stock Company United Aircraft Corporation (PJSC-UAC) to produce the SJ100 civil commuter aircraft. The agreement was formalized in Moscow on 27 October 2025 and disclosed to the stock exchanges on 28 October 2025.
The SJ100 is a modern civil commuter aircraft designed for regional transportation, and the collaboration between HAL and PJSC-UAC is expected to enhance India’s aircraft manufacturing capabilities. HAL stated that any further updates on the project will be shared with the stock exchanges as per regulatory requirements under SEBI (LODR) Regulations.
Shailesh Bansal, HAL’s Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, confirmed that the MoU is already public information and does not have any material impact on the company’s operations or stock performance.
This collaboration underscores the growing partnership between India and Russia in the aerospace sector and reinforces HAL’s position in civil and defense aviation manufacturing.
