HUDCO and NSG Join Hands for Sustainable Waste Management at Manesar Campus
New Delhi: In a step aimed at strengthening environmental responsibility within national institutions, Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Security Guard (NSG) to introduce scientific and sustainable municipal solid waste (MSW) management at the NSG campus in Manesar, Haryana.
The collaboration will cover the entire 1,700-acre NSG campus, making it one of the larger institutional premises in India to adopt structured and eco-friendly waste management practices.
MoU Signed in Presence of Senior Leadership
The MoU was signed in the presence of HUDCO CMD Shri Sanjay Kulshrestha, DCP Shri M. Nagaraj, and NSG Director General Shri Bhrigu Srinivasan, along with senior officials from both organisations. The leadership reaffirmed their commitment to adopting environmentally responsible systems that align with national sustainability goals.
Focus on Scientific Waste Processing
Under the agreement, HUDCO will support the design and implementation of a modern waste management framework, focusing on:
-
Waste segregation at source
-
Scientific processing and recycling
-
Environment-safe disposal mechanisms
-
Reduction of landfill dependency
The initiative aims to minimise environmental impact while improving operational efficiency across the campus.
Creating a Model for Sustainable Campuses
Officials stated that the project is expected to set a benchmark for sustainable practices across government and security institutions. The initiative will also enhance awareness around responsible waste handling and resource conservation.
CSR and Sustainability at the Core
The partnership reflects HUDCO’s growing role in sustainability-driven infrastructure development and its broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) objectives. By extending technical expertise to the NSG campus, HUDCO aims to demonstrate how large institutional spaces can transition to greener operations.
