Indian Oil and Air India Sign MoU for Supply of Sustainable Aviation Fuel
State-owned Indian Oil Corporation Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Air India for the supply of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for remarkable green future of aviation fuel strategy.
The MoU underscores the commitment by both the parties to promote the adoption of low-carbon fuels in aviation, support global decarbonization goals, and contribute to the transition toward more sustainable air transport operations.

The MoU was signed by Shri Shailesh Dhar, Executive Director (Aviation), Indian Oil, and Shri P. Balaji, Group Head — Governance, Regulatory, Compliance (GRC) and Corporate Affairs, Air India, in the presence of Shri A S Sahney, Chairman, Indian Oil and Shri Campbell Wilson, CEO, Air India.
The collaboration states the great role of Indian Oil as a shareholder in India’s energy transition, bringing India closer to a greener, cleaner aviation future. Recently, the PSU company becomes the first Indian company to receive ISCC CORSIA certification for SAF production at its Panipat Refinery.

Both the corporations are reinforcing the nation to be part of sustainable aviation and energy transition by integrating certified green fuels into commercial operations.
Through this MoU, IOCL and Air India aim to collaborate on the supply of SAF to meet CORSIA targets and even exceeding them for international flights, ensuring a reliable, transparent, and sustainable fuel supply to support both companies’ environmental goals.
