New Delhi: Official Bids for six underground coal blocks under 12th round of commercial coal blocks’ auction has been opened by Coal Ministry on 18th June 2025.
As many as bids for 2 Coal Blocks have been received out of 6 underground Coal Blocks. The online bids were decrypted and opened electronically in the presence of the bidders, and sealed envelopes containing offline bid documents were also opened in the presence of the bidders.

According to government press release, the entire process was displayed on the screen to the bidders. 14 bids have been received online as well as in physical form against 2 coal blocks.
A total of 8 companies have submitted their bids in the auction process.
The bids will be evaluated by a multi-disciplinary Technical Evaluation Committee and Technically Qualified Bidders will be shortlisted for participation in the electronic auction, to be conducted on MSTC portal.
