C-DOT Signs Quantum Security Deal to Detect Future Crypto Threats Across Defence & Banking
New Delhi, February 14, 2026: In a major push to secure India’s digital infrastructure against future quantum computing threats, the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), has signed an agreement with Synergy Quantum India Private Limited to jointly develop an automated tool for identifying quantum-vulnerable cryptographic algorithms.
The initiative aims to help organizations proactively assess their cybersecurity posture and transition toward quantum-safe cryptography.
Automated Tool for Quantum-Vulnerable Crypto Detection
The proposed solution will be an advanced automated system capable of scanning devices and identifying the cryptographic algorithms and security mechanisms in use. It will detect security vulnerabilities and clearly differentiate between quantum-safe and quantum-vulnerable algorithms.
The tool will generate a detailed report outlining:

Vulnerable cryptographic algorithms

Their functional purpose
-
Exact location within the device or system
-
Recommendations to support migration to post-quantum cryptography
This initiative comes at a time when rapid advancements in quantum computing are raising concerns over the long-term viability of traditional encryption systems.
Three Core Modules of the Solution
The integrated system will consist of:
1. Web Application:
External black-box scanning (with or without login access) to assess network traffic, vulnerabilities, and quantum-related risks.
2. Security Scanner Agent:
Internal scanning of libraries and on-device components to evaluate endpoint and container security.
3. Control Software:
Centralized management of agent deployment, scan execution, data aggregation, and unified vulnerability reporting.
Strengthening India’s Quantum-Safe Readiness
The collaboration is expected to deliver a commercially deployable solution for sectors such as:
