Anup Hanjura Recommended as CCL Director Technical
Shri Anup Hanjura, WCL Area General Manager, has been recommended by PESB as Director Technical of Central Coalfields Limited. Approval from ACC pending for final appointment.
New Delhi | Ranchi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Shri Anup Hanjura for the position of Director (Technical) at Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), a Schedule 'B' central public sector company under the Ministry of Coal. This recommendation came after an interview-based selection process on Friday.
Shri Hanjura is currently the General Manager (Area General Manager, Pench & Kanhan Area) at Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL). He stood out among twelve candidates for the role. His name will be sent for formal approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

The selection meeting (Minute No. 1 of PESB Meeting No. 85/2025) took place on September 26, 2025, at 11:30 AM.
A total of twelve applicants from various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and government bodies were interviewed by the PESB panel for this important technical leadership position at Central Coalfields Limited.

The Road Ahead for the Nominee
As the recommended choice, Shri Hanjura is set to join the Board of Directors at CCL. The Director (Technical) position is crucial for the company. This role will include overseeing mine operations, managing all field and technical tasks, and ensuring safety standards at mines under CCL's large operations.
The final appointment will occur after required vigilance clearances and approval from the ACC. CCL, a major subsidiary of CIL, is one of the country's leading coal producers and plays a vital role in national energy security.
