GAIL Appoints Shri Deepak Gupta as Chairman & Managing Director
New Delhi: GAIL (India) Limited today announced the appointment of Shri Deepak Gupta, Director (Projects), as the new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), effective from the date of assumption of charge on or after 1 March 2026. His tenure will continue until 28 February 2029 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The appointment was approved by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG) under letter No. CA-31022/1/2024-PNG (49119) dated 12 February 2026, in compliance with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
About Shri Deepak Gupta:
Shri Deepak Gupta is a seasoned energy and infrastructure professional with extensive experience in natural gas pipeline projects, LNG operations, and large-scale energy infrastructure development. He has been serving as Director (Projects) at GAIL, leading multiple strategic projects, and has played a key role in expanding GAIL’s LNG, pipeline, and city gas distribution initiatives. His leadership is expected to strengthen GAIL’s project execution and operational efficiency as the company continues to grow in the Indian and global energy markets.
