State-owned non-banking finance company REC Ltd has appointed Prince Dhawan, an IAS officer from the 2012 batch, as its new Executive Director.

New Delhi, 28 August 2025: Public sector-backed NBFC, Rural Electrification Corporation (REC Ltd), has appointed Shri Prince Dhwan, an IAS officer of the 2012 batch of the AGMUT cadre, to the post of Executive Director.

The officer has been requested to be released from his current duties to join the new assignment soon. He is currently serving as the Managing Director of the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and Special Commissioner (Transport) in New Delhi. The appointment has been made for the period of three years.

Currently, he is pursuing his master’s in public administration and international development at the Harvard Kennedy School. Having completed his BTech and MTech in Electrical Engineering and Information and Communication Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, he joined the Government of India in 2012.

Since then, he has served in the Department of Finance, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Information Technology, and Health and Family Welfare. He has also served as District Magistrate in various districts. His research interests include evidence-backed iterative policy improvement and emerging technology regulation. At the time of this research, he was serving as Special Commissioner, GST, Government of Delhi.
