Shri C Neelakanta Reddy Entrusted with Additional Charge of CVO, RINL, Visakhapatnam
New Delhi, February 16, 2026: The Government of India, through the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, has announced the entrustment of additional charge of the post of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), Visakhapatnam to Shri C Neelakanta Reddy, IRSSE (1997).
Currently serving as the CVO of National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (NMDC), Hyderabad, Shri Neelakanta Reddy will take on the additional responsibilities at RINL for one year or until a regular CVO is appointed, whichever is earlier. This decision aims to ensure continuity of vigilance oversight and strengthened governance at one of India’s major public sector steel enterprises.

The entrustment comes following the Ministry of Steel’s Office Memorandum dated February 11, 2026, and has been approved by the competent authority. Copies of the order have been forwarded to the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), as well as other relevant officials within the Ministry of Steel, for information and compliance.

RINL, headquartered in Visakhapatnam, is a flagship integrated steel plant under the Government of India and plays a key role in India’s steel production capacity. The appointment of Shri Neelakanta Reddy is expected to enhance transparency, strengthen internal vigilance mechanisms, and ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
Shri Neelakanta Reddy, an experienced officer of the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE), 1997 batch, has a distinguished track record in vigilance and compliance oversight in the public sector, bringing expertise that will support RINL in maintaining strong governance practices.
