New Delhi: Shri Pradeep Kumar, Additional General Manager, Western Railway, has assumed the Administrative and Financial powers of General Manager, Western Railway under the control of Railway Board.
Kumar is a senior officer of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineering (IRSME), 1989 batch, with an illustrious career spanning over three decades in Indian Railways.
He has since served with distinction across various Zonal Railways including Western Railway, South Eastern Railway (SER), East Coast Railway (ECoR) and South East Central Railway (SECR), holding several key and responsible positions.
His wide-ranging experience includes important assignments such as Production Engineer at Carriage Workshop, Ajmer; Divisional Mechanical Engineer (Carriage & Wagon), Kota; Divisional Mechanical Engineer, Vadodara; Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer (Planning), WR; Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer (Workshop), WR; and Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer (Production) at Carriage Repair Workshop, Mumbai. He has also worked as Sr. EDPM and Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer (Repair) at Wagon Repair Shop, Kota.
Shri Kumar has held strategic leadership positions including Chief Rolling Stock Engineer, South Eastern Railway, Kolkata; Senior Professor at Indian Railway Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (IRIMEE), Jamalpur; Divisional Railway Manager, Sambalpur Division of East Coast Railway and Principal Chief Safety Officer, South East Central Railway.
