Who Is Ayaskanta Jena? 35 Years at NTPC and Now an Executive Director
New Delhi, June 2026: NTPC Limited has elevated Ayaskanta Jena to the position of Executive Director (Senior Management) with effect from June 8, 2026, as part of a broader leadership elevation involving 34 executives. The appointment was disclosed by the company to BSE and NSE under Regulation 30 of SEBI (LODR) Regulations.
According to NTPC's senior management profile, Jena will have a tenure of 3.17 years in the Executive Director grade.
A Career Spanning More Than Three Decades
Ayaskanta Jena joined NTPC Limited on October 23, 1990, and has completed nearly 35.5 years of service with India's largest power generation company.
He holds a B.Sc. (Engineering) degree in Electrical Engineering and has built extensive experience across technical, project execution and digital transformation functions within the organization.

His assignments in electrical erection provided experience in plant construction and commissioning activities, while his work in ERP and IT functions contributed to process improvement and digital initiatives across the organization.
Having also served as a Business Unit Head, he brings managerial and operational leadership experience accumulated over more than three decades.

The latest elevation exercise saw 34 officials move into the Executive Director (Senior Management) grade. Executive Directors occupy one of the highest positions in NTPC's executive hierarchy and oversee major operational, engineering and strategic functions.
