DVC Signs Power Purchase Agreements with GUVNL
Kalimpong, West Bengal: In a significant development aimed at addressing the growing power demand in Gujarat, the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has successfully signed Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). This agreement, with the due consent received from the Ministry of Power, will see DVC supply 359 MW from its upcoming Durgapur Thermal Power Station (1×800 MW) in West Bengal and an additional 200 MW from the Koderma Thermal Power Station Phase II project in Jharkhand.
The signing ceremony took place at Mayfair Resort, Kalimpong, in the esteemed presence of prominent officials, including Shri S. Suresh Kumar, IAS, Chairman, DVC; Shri Arup Sarkar, Member (Finance); Dr. John Mathai, Member (Secretary); Shri Sudipto Acharjee, CVO; Shri Sanjiv Shrivastava, ED (Commercial), Shri C Prakash, ED (Project), Shri J. Mukherjee, ED (Finance), along with other senior DVC officials and dignitaries from various beneficiary organizations.

At present DVC is committed to supply power to various DISCOMS (Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal etc.) and critical infrastructure like Indian Railways. In addition to this DVC is successfully fulfilling its multifarious commitments in its untiring effort to serve its own consumers with reliable and affordable power in DVC command area.
The PPA was signed on behalf of GUVNL by Shri S. Mathur, General Manager (Commercial), and on behalf of DVC by Shri Arun Patra, Chief General Manager (Commercial). This agreement follows a prior PPA of 600 MW that DVC had already signed with GUVNL on 04 th July 2024 from its upcoming Raghunathpur TPS, Phase II.

DVC has already secured complete tie-ups for power generation from its upcoming brownfield thermal power projects, maintaining partnerships with various beneficiaries, including Gujarat, Haryana, and Karnataka, as allocated by the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
This development underscores DVC's ongoing commitment to delivering reliable and affordable power to consumers across the country.
