NCRTC partners with PTC India for cost-efficient power procurement

New Delhi: NCRTC and PTC India have signed an agreement to procure low-cost power, including green energy, through power exchanges for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor. This strategic move aims to reduce electricity costs and support sustainable operations for the Namo Bharat Trains across key receiving substations in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.

The power procurement will serve NCRTC’s receiving substations in Ghaziabad, Modipuram, Shatabdi Nagar, Muradnagar (UP), and Sarai Kale Khan (Delhi). This collaboration aligns with NCRTC’s aim to reduce power costs and support sustainability goals.

The agreement was signed by Shri Shalabh Goel, MD of NCRTC, and Shri Manoj Jhawar, CMD of PTC,  and underlines a partnership focused on operational cost efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Shri Shalabh Goel, Managing Director of NCRTC, said, “A capital-intensive project like the RRTS needs to be sustainable in the longer term. By leveraging green power through exchanges, NCRTC aims to enhance operational efficiency, reduce carbon footprint, and ensure reliable power for its high-speed rail services.
