NHPC distributed relief materials to fire victims at Gurez
It is noteworthy that significant work is being done by NHPC in the development of local areas through CSR&SD.
Kishanganga, Jammu, and Kashmir: NHPC’s 330 MW Kishanganga Power Station located in Jammu & Kashmir distributed relief materials to the fire-affected families of Gurez area in Bandipoda district (J&K). Recently a fire had broken out in the houses of some people of the Gurez area and all the items kept in their house were burned to ashes by fire. The local people and local administration had requested Shri A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC to assist the affected families.
As per directions of CMD, NHPC, immediate assistance was provided under the CSR-SD scheme. CGI sheets and blankets were distributed to the victims' families in the presence of the district administration. This action was appreciated by the locals and district administration.
It is noteworthy that significant work is being done by NHPC in the development of local areas through CSR&SD. Several works have been done by all the power stations in Jammu and Kashmir in their adjoining areas for the benefits of the project area people., Masks, sanitizers, etc. are being distributed in the areas around the power station during this period of the COVID-19 epidemic.
Awareness programs in collaboration with the local administration are also being conducted on "How to protect from COVID 19". As a celebration of its foundation day, NHPC has planned to organize a series of Mass Blood Donation Camps starting from 3rd November 2020.
