NHPC issues updates of Subansiri Lower HE Project, Parbati-II HE Project, Teesta-V Power Station

NHPC Ltd has announced the updates of its ongoing projects namely, Subansiri Lower HE Project (2000 MW), Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, Parbati-II HE Project (800 MW), Himachal Pradesh, Teesta-V Power Station (510 MW), Sikkim.

Subansiri Lower HE Power Project (8X250 MW):

It is anticipated that 3 units of 250 MW each of Subansiri Lower HE Project will be completed by March, 2025 and remaining units i.e. 5 units of 250 MW each will be completed by May, 2026 in phased manner.

Parbati-II HE Power Project (4X200 MW):

 All 4 units of the project is anticipated to be completed by December, 2024.

Teesta -V Power Station (3X170 MW):

The update regarding insurance amount claimed, damaged caused along with steps taken to restore normalcy is provided. The State-owned company has provided information about the damages and losses done.

Expected quantum of loss and damage caused is amounting to Rs 788 Crore (Rs 297 Crores towards Material Damage and Rs 491 Crores towards Business Interruption loss) and has been revised to Rs 1005.10 Crores (Rs 517.02 crores towards Material Damage loss and Rs 488.08 crores towards Business Interruption loss) after reviewing the losses.

This loss may liable to change as per final execution.

Insurance amount claimed and realized by the listed entity for the loss and damage. The on-account part payment of Rs 150 Crores (75% towards BI & 25% towards PD) has been approved for disbursement to NHPC by Insurance Company and release of the same has been initiated by Insurer.

Further, the Major Restoration Work (Civil & HM) Packages 1 to 5 have been awarded and restoration activities are ongoing. The E&M restoration works are awarded and is under process of award.
