MRPL Dispatches 1000th Petcoke Rake, Boosting Supply to JSW Cement

Mangaluru, March 17, 2026: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) celebrated a major operational milestone with the loading and dispatch of its 1000th petcoke rake from the MRPL MMRT Railway Siding today. The milestone rake was delivered to JSW Cement, underscoring MRPL’s commitment to reliable customer supply.

The rake was officially flagged off by Shri B.H.V. Prasad, Executive Director (Projects), and Shri Deepak Prabhakar, Executive Director (Marketing), in the presence of key railway and customer officials, including Ms. Asha Shetty, Regional Railway Manager, Konkan Railway (Karwar Division), and Shri Vinanil Tiwari, Chief Procurement Officer, JSW Cement.

Speaking at the event, Shri Prabhakar highlighted that the second batch of 500 rakes was completed 40% faster than the first, reflecting enhanced operational efficiency and process improvements. Shri Prasad congratulated the MRPL team for their dedication in achieving this landmark.

Ms. Asha Shetty praised the strong partnership between MRPL and Konkan Railway, expressing confidence in achieving many more milestones together. Shri Tiwari acknowledged MRPL’s consistent support and long-standing collaboration with JSW Cement.

The event was attended by several senior MRPL and Konkan Railway officials, including Shri G.D. Meena (ATM/MAQ, Konkan Railway), Shri Muruganandam (CGM Marketing), and members of MRPL’s marketing team.
