NTPC Bongaigaon generating sustainable power with inclusive involvement of all stakeholders
Bongaigaon: NTPC Bongaigaon generating 750 MW has been generating sustainable power with the inclusive involvement of all its stakeholders. In a media interaction, held today, NTPC senior management headed by Shri Subrata Mandal, Executive Director, NTPC Bongaigaon spoke on the various operational and plant performance highlights of the station. Shri Mandal said, 2021 has been a year of stupendous achievement in all areas and the station achieved more than 100% daily PLF for the first time by generating 18.25 MU (101.39 % PLF) on 18-March-2021 since the inception of all 3 units (Previous best was 17.79 MU on 17th Mar’2021). 2021 has been a year of stupendous achievement in all areas.
Till 30th March, the station generated 4186 million units with 63.9 % PLF and availability of 92.7 %. The station also achieved its highest-ever monthly PLF score of 75.86% in April 2021. The station has achieved the lowest ever monthly specific oil consumption of 0.12 ml/ kwhr in July’2021.In the area of ash utilization, the station achieved its highest ever daily ash utilization of 2297.04 MT on 29th March 2022 and the Highest ever monthly ash utilization of 52,591 MT in March’2022. The safety parameters have been recognised at the apex level by Hon’ble Union Minister of Power at Shram Shakti Awards 2020-21 on 7th November 2021, he added.
Shri Mandal also spoke of the FGD Technology coming up in the plant as a step to mitigate the pollution. He added that NTPC Bongaigaon in the last Financial Year planted 40000 saplings in and around the station and a 900 kwP rooftop solar plant has also been installed in the plant. NTPC has also planted 20000 saplings in the financial year as a part of the green initiative.
As a part of the societal commitment and girl empowerment, NTPC Bongaigaon will also be starting the flagship girl empowerment program of NTPC called Girls Empowerment Mission (GEM) this year in which 40 girls will be given training in areas of education, holistic growth, and life skills in the month of July 2022, he added.
On the COVID front, Shri Mandal added that around 3200 people including all employees, associates and people from nearby villages have been vaccinated and an oxygen boosting and bottling plant the hospital premises has been inaugurated on 7th October,2021 to meet any kind of exigency. He added that NTPC Bongaigaon will take all steps to vaccinate the younger ones in the age group of 15-18 years in the coming days.
Lastly, Shri Mandal highlighted the spirit of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and showcased how NTPC Bongaigaon has been celebrating the 75 years of Indian Independence.
