NTPC to issue debentures at coupon rate of 6.89% worth Rs 4,000 crore
State-owned NTPC Ltd has decided to issue unsecured non-convertible debentures of Rs 4,000 crore on 17.06.2025, through private placement at a coupon of 6.89% p.a. for a tenor of 10 years 1 day, maturing on 18.06.2035, under the board resolution dated 29.06.2024 and subsequent approval obtained through shareholders’ resolution dated 29.08.2024.
This is the third issue of debentures under the above mentioned approval. Proceeds will be utilized for, inter alia, funding of capital expenditure, refinancing of existing loans and other general corporate purposes.
The debentures are proposed to be listed on NSE.
According to the exchange filing, Debenture Trust Deed will be duly executed as per the requirements of and within the period of time prescribed under the Companies Act and rules specified therein.
Shares of NTPC Ltd are trading down by 0.075% at Rs 331.65 at BSE.
