B. Sairam to Take Over as CMD of Coal India Limited Till 2028
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Shri B. Sairam as Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Coal India Limited, effective till 31 March 2028.
New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Coal for the appointment of Shri B. Sairam as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Coal India Limited (CIL).
Shri B. Sairam, who is presently serving as CMD, Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), will assume charge as CMD of Coal India Limited in the pay scale of ₹2,00,000–₹3,70,000 (IDA).
As per the approval, his appointment will be effective from the date he assumes charge of the post and will continue until the date of his superannuation, i.e., 31 March 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The decision has been conveyed by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) through the Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, Government of India. Copies of the order have been forwarded to the Prime Minister’s Office, Cabinet Secretariat, and other concerned authorities for information and necessary action.
The appointment is expected to provide leadership continuity at Coal India Limited, the country’s largest coal producer and a key contributor to India’s energy security.
