BHEL Receives High-Value LOI for Odisha Thermal Project, INR 1,200–1,500 Crores
New Delhi: February 4, 2026: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from Hindalco Industries Limited for the Aditya Expansion Project Phase II at Lapanga, Sambalpur, Odisha. The LOI covers the design, engineering, supply, installation, commissioning, and Performance Acceptance Test (PAT) of a 2 × 150 MW Boiler-Turbine-Generator (BTG) package.
The project is a domestic contract with an estimated order value of INR 1,200–1,500 crores excluding GST. BHEL is expected to commission Unit 1 within 35 months and Unit 2 within 37 months from the effective date of the contract. Civil works are excluded from this scope.
