Bishrampur, Chhattisgarh: Continuing his intensive field engagements in the closing phase of the financial year, CMD of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Shri Harish Duhan, undertook a comprehensive review visit to the Bishrampur Area on Sunday, 15 February 2026.

The visit began with an early morning inspection of the Amgaon Open Cast Project, where the CMD reviewed ongoing mining operations, production performance, and safety protocols. He interacted with the project team and emphasized strict adherence to safety standards while maintaining operational efficiency during the crucial final weeks of the financial year.

Focus on Sustainable Development

Shri Duhan subsequently visited Kenapara Eco Park, a mine-closure eco-tourism initiative developed as part of SECL’s sustainable mining and environmental stewardship program. During the visit, he engaged with local women associated with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and reviewed the facilities created at the reclaimed mine site.

Appreciating the transformation of the abandoned mining area into a vibrant eco-tourism destination, he reiterated SECL’s commitment to inclusive growth, environmental restoration, and livelihood generation in coalfield regions.

Review of Production & Safety at Amera OC

The CMD also reviewed operations at the Amera Open Cast Project. Detailed discussions were held on production targets, productivity benchmarks, equipment deployment, and safety performance. He directed the area team to accelerate output and optimize resource utilization to ensure achievement of annual production goals, without compromising safety and environmental compliance.

Strengthening Administrative Coordination

During his visit, Shri Duhan met senior district administration and police officials to reinforce institutional coordination. He held discussions with Shri Narendra Dugga, IAS, Commissioner, Surguja Division, and Shri Deepak Jha, IPS, Inspector General, Surguja Range, focusing on operational support, infrastructure development, and collaborative measures to ensure smooth mining operations.

Driving Performance Excellence

CMD SECL continues to undertake regular field visits across operational areas to personally assess progress, address on-ground challenges, and strengthen performance outcomes. As SECL enters the final stretch of the financial year, such proactive leadership engagement highlights the organization’s focus on production maximization, safety reinforcement, sustainability, and strong stakeholder partnerships.
