Coal India will continue to meet the Nation’s requirements says Chairman at 76th republic day celebration

New Delhi: The 76th Republic Day celebrations at Coal India corporate office in Kolkata commenced with Chairman Shri P.M. Prasad, along with Functional Directors and CVO paying floral tributes at the Martyrs Memorial. CIL Chairman then hoisted the National Flag and inspected the guard of honour.

In his address, Shri Prasad emphasized Coal India’s commitment to ensuring energy independence for the nation. He stressed the need for ramping up coal production to meet the country’s growing energy demands while reducing reliance on coal imports.

He added that this year, India is poised to surpass 1 billion tonnes of coal production, with Coal India contributing approximately 70% to this milestone. He highlighted that in absolute quantity, CIL's contribution remains significant and that our vision is clear- as long as India needs coal, Coal India will continue to meet the Nation’s requirements and strive toward achieving set production targets.
