REC Incorporates Jalna Power Transmission as Wholly-Owned Step-Down Subsidiary

New Delhi – REC Limited has announced the incorporation of Jalna Power Transmission Limited as a wholly-owned subsidiary of its arm, REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL). The new entity, registered on June 29, 2025, will support implementation of an intra-state transmission system in Maharashtra.

The Government of Maharashtra, via an order dated April 9, 2025, had entrusted RECPDCL with the role of Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) for the establishment of a 400/132 kV power transmission project in Jalna district. Jalna Power Transmission Ltd will serve as the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to facilitate bidding and eventual asset transfer to the successful private developer, in line with Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) norms.

According to REC’s filing with NSE and BSE under SEBI LODR Regulation 30, Jalna Power Transmission has an authorized and paid-up capital of ?5 lakh. While the project is still at its early stage, the new subsidiary strengthens REC's continued role in modernizing India’s power transmission network.

The incorporation does not involve any related-party transaction beyond REC’s shareholding, and no regulatory approvals are pending for the transaction.
