Abhay Kumar Appointed Executive Director (Projects) at RLDA on Deputation

New Delhi, March 6, 2026: The Ministry of Railways has appointed Abhay Kumar, an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), as Executive Director (Projects) at the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), Delhi.

According to an official order issued by the Railway Board on March 6, 2026, Abhay Kumar will serve in the new role on deputation until February 2, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Current Role and Deputation Details

Abhay Kumar, born on June 12, 1970, is currently serving as General Manager / Special Projects (Delhi) at RLDA while on deputation from RITES Limited.

His new appointment as Executive Director (Projects) will continue under the standard deputation terms, which include parent pay plus deputation allowance.

The tenure will be counted within the overall five-year deputation period, starting from February 3, 2023, when he initially joined RITES on deputation.

Official Order

The Railway Board has instructed the concerned authorities to relieve the officer to enable him to assume his new responsibilities at RLDA.

The order was issued by Joint Secretary Ravi Shekhar of the Railway Board.

RLDA plays a key role in developing and monetizing surplus railway land and assets to support infrastructure and urban development projects across India.
