Japanese Academic Delegation Meets Coal India Leadership

New Delhi: Our Chairman, Shri B. Sairam; Director (HR), Dr. Vinay Ranjan; and Director (Business Development), Shri Asheesh Kumar, met a Japanese academic delegation along with the representatives from IIT Kanpur at our Corporate Headquarters in Kolkata.

The delegation was led by Prof. Keiichi Satoh of Hitotsubashi University, Prof. Takashi Nakazawa of Toyo University, Prof. Tomoyuki Tatsumi of Toyohashi SOZO Junior College, Prof. Atsushi Nozawa of Tokyo Keizai University and Prof. Pradip Swarnakar of IIT Kanpur.

Discussions were held on Just Transition and responsible mine closure. The Japanese delegation also shared best practices from Japan’s experience in mine closure, energy transition, and mine repurposing.

It is noteworthy to mention that Coal India is collaborating with the Just Transition Centre, IIT Kanpur, for mine closure initiatives.
