MCL Director Sanjay Jha Reviews Samleswari & Lajkura OCP Operations at Ib Valley

New Delhi Feb 21, 2026: Sanjay Jha, Director (Technical/Operations) of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), conducted a high-level site visit to the Samleswari Open Cast Project and Lajkura Open Cast Project in the Ib Valley Coalfields.

He was accompanied by the General Manager (Excavation) during the visit, where a comprehensive review of operational performance was undertaken at both projects.

Focus on Output Expansion

During the interaction with Team Ib Valley Area, led by Area GM Shri Jitendra Tiwari, Shri Jha emphasized:

• Expeditious scaling of coal production

• Faster overburden (OB) removal

• Productivity enhancement

• Capacity augmentation to meet departmental targets

He stressed the importance of maintaining operational efficiency while pushing for higher output to support MCL’s broader production goals.
