MCL to supply 35.48 lakh tonnes coal to new 800-MW unit in Andhra Pradesh
It is said that to maintain enough coal stocks, it is required to run the unit at its rated capacity and meet the rising grid demand during summer.
New Delhi: India's one of the major coal-producing companies, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) will now supply an additional 35.48 lakh tonnes of coal per annum to the new 800-MW unit of the Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station in Andhra Pradesh, India.
This Thermal Power Station is located in Nelatur Village, near Krishnapatnam and at a distance of 23 km from Nellore city of Andhra Pradesh. This power plant is one of the coal-based power plants of Andhra Pradesh Power Development Company Limited (APPDCL).

The Stage II of the thermal power station was commissioned on March 10 and contributes 16 MU to the daily power generation in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
