On Saturday, A Special Safety Review Workshop was organised at NCL HQ Auditorium, on the theme of empowering mines for a safer tomorrow, aiming to strengthen safety practices and reinforce the culture of zero harm across all operational Areas of the company.

Shri T. K. Nag, Former CMD, NCL & Chairman of High-Level Safety Expert Committee, delivered the keynote address, sharing his vast experience and valuable insights on advanced safety strategies and best practices of different mines in the coal sector, highlighting the role of Safety Management Plan, Identification of Root Cause Analysis, Safety Audit, Adoption of Digitization in Safety, etc.

While speaking in the workshop, CMD NCL Shri B. Sairam said that with rising production targets, ensuring safety is a challenge—one that can be effectively addressed through digitization and technology. He exhorted for adoption of global best practices in digital transformation to enhance operational excellence. He highlighted the NCL’s ongoing digital initiatives in coal transportation, operations, and land acquisition and said that safety is a continuous process.

On this occasion, General Manager (Safety and Rescue), NCL Shri P D Rathi also administered the safety oath to participants.
