New Delhi: NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited, has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for setting up a 600 MW solar power project coupled with 300 MW / 1800 MWh Energy Storage Systems (ESS), the company informed stock exchanges on Tuesday.
The project forms part of SECI’s larger 1,200 MW solar capacity integrated with 600 MW / 3,600 MWh ESS tender awarded under the tariff-based competitive bidding route. NIRL has formally accepted the LoA on February 3, 2026, in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
Under the terms of the award, NIRL will supply power generated from the project for a period of 25 years under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date (SCSD) for the full project capacity has been fixed at 24 months from the effective date of the PPA, according to the disclosure.
The contract has been awarded by a domestic entity, and the project will involve power generation and long-term supply. The company clarified that neither the promoter nor promoter group entities have any interest in SECI and that the transaction does not fall under related-party transactions.
NLC India Limited is a Navratna public sector enterprise under the Government of India and continues to expand its footprint in the renewable energy segment as part of its clean energy transition strategy.
