NTPC and WCL Strengthen Fuel Supply for Mouda Stage-I, Unit-2 with FSA Amendment

To Facilitate the supply of Kolarpimpri cost-plus coal to NTPC Mouda Project, NTPC Limited and Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) signed an amendment to the Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA).

NTPC and WCL Strengthen Fuel Supply for Mouda Stage-I, Unit-2 with FSA Amendment

Mumbai, 24th February 2025: NTPC Limited and Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) signed an amendment to the Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA) for Mouda Stage-I, Unit-2, today at NTPC Western Region-I Headquarters, Mumbai. The amendment facilitates the supply of Kolarpimpri cost-plus coal to NTPC Mouda Project, ensuring a steady and high-quality fuel supply for power generation.

The FSA amendment was signed by Shri Kamlesh Soni, Regional Executive Director (West-I), NTPC, and Shri Rakesh Prasad, General Manager (Projects & Planning), WCL, in the presence of officials from NTPC Corporate, NTPC WR-I HQs, and WCL. The amendment was necessitated due to the inclusion of a First Mile Connectivity (FMC) project in the Kolarpimpri mine and the approval of a revised Project Report (PR) for the mine’s expansion.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Soni stated, "This amendment marks a significant step in ensuring fuel security for NTPC Mouda. The integration of First Mile Connectivity will enhance coal transportation efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and further strengthen NTPC’s commitment to sustainable and cost-effective power generation."

Shri Prasad added, "The enhanced coal supply from the Kolarpimpri mine through the First Mile Connectivity project will streamline logistics and improve operational efficiency. This collaboration between WCL and NTPC will contribute to the reliable and uninterrupted supply of coal, supporting the nation’s growing energy needs."

With this amendment, NTPC is set to benefit from improved coal availability and supply chain efficiency, reinforcing its mission to provide reliable and affordable power to the nation.
