Environmental protection has always been an important subject for WCL, along with playing an important role in fulfilling the coal requirements of the country, WCL is also making active contribution in environmental protection.  Bioreclamation and large plantations are an important part of the major activities to promote conservation. Taking forward the concept of sustainable development, in the year 2023-24, WCL has planted 5,31,520 saplings on 227.11 hectares of land.
