Mumbai, 28th January 2026: Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) welcomed Shri Sandeep S. Paranjpe as he assumed charge as the new Director (Technical/Project & Planning) today. He was warmly received by Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande, Director (Human Resources), on behalf of the WCL management.
An experienced mining professional, Shri Paranjpe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from Shri Ramdeobaba Kamla Nehru Engineering College, Nagpur University (1991), and brings over three decades of rich and extensive expertise in the coal mining sector.
His career includes 16 years of hands-on underground mining experience at Pathakheda and Saoner, along with deep specialisation in critical areas such as management, land acquisition, project implementation, production, mine planning, coal quality, and mine closure.
Prior to joining WCL, Shri Paranjpe served as the Regional General Manager in the Sohagpur Area of SECL, and later as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the CMD of SECL, contributing significantly to the company’s operational and strategic initiatives.
All departmental heads and officers extended their best wishes on the occasion. The WCL family warmly welcomes Shri Sandeep S. Paranjpe and looks forward to the organisation scaling new heights under his able leadership.
