New Delhi: Western Coalfields Limited celebrated International Women's Day at its Headquarters in Nagpur. On 08.03.2022, Women In Public Sector (WIPS) organised a function to felicitate Women’s contribution in Coal Mining & allied operations at WCL.
Smt. Kundatai Vijaykar, the first lady mayor of Nagpur, honoured the function as the Chief Guest. In her address, she elaborated on women’s contribution in National Development and that today women & men share equal responsibility towards development of any organisation. She mentioned that Women have ventured in all trades and have excelled in their fields.
Smt. Anita Agrawal, President, Jhankar Mahila Mandal, Vice Presidents – Smt. Reena Kumar, Smt. Abha Dwivedi, Smt. Shradha Shrivastav and renowned Anaesthesiologist Dr. Vaishali Chaudhury, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Director (Personnel), Shri. Amit Kumar Shrivastav, CVO, WCL and Dr. Sanjay Chaudhury, renowned Orthopaedic, were present as the Guest of Honour.
Dr. Sanjay Kumar, in his address, said that Women have a very important role to play in the progress of any institution. He mentioned that women are hardworking and dedicated. He mentioned examples of several women who have achieved great success in their professional lives. He wished success to all women employees in WCL on the occasion.
Dr. Sujata Sarmukadam, Chief Medical Officer, WCL, delivered the Welcome speech while Smt. Anupama Tembhurnikar, Sr. Manager (Personnel) coordinated the event. On this occasion, the Medical Department, WCL and Chaudhury Hospital jointly organised a camp on Testing & Treatment of Osteoporosis. Women employees availed the facility. Health related information was also shared at the camp.
