New Delhi: NTPC Bongaigaon joined the rest of the nation in observing Vigilance Awareness Week from 27th October to 2nd November 2025 on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”

The observance began with the Integrity Pledge, administered by Shri Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, in the presence of Shri Amit Asthana, AGM (HR), and Shri Ananta Samanta, DGM (Vigilance), along with departmental heads, employees, and representatives from unions and associations of the station.

The week serves as a reminder for the organization to remain vigilant and uphold an integrity-driven system, fostering a professional and ethical culture across all levels. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Maitra emphasized the importance of building a corruption-free society and encouraged employees and associates to adopt transparency and accountability as core values in their personal and professional lives.

As part of the observance, an Essay Competition in Assamese and Boro languages was organized by NTPC Bongaigaon at Salakati High School on 25th October 2025 to promote the values of honesty, integrity, and accountability among students. The event was inaugurated by the Headmistress of the school, who highlighted the importance of vigilance in everyday life and the role of youth in shaping a corruption-free society. Students from various classes participated enthusiastically on the topic “Impact of Corruption on Indian Society,” sharing their reflections on ethics and nation-building.

In addition, a special awareness session for contractual workers in the main plant area was organized at the station premises by the site vigilance focusing on the importance of vigilance, transparency, and adherence to ethical practices in day-to-day work. The session highlighted preventive vigilance measures, responsibilities under the Integrity Pledge, and the significance of reporting unethical practices. Participants actively interacted and shared their experiences, reaffirming their commitment to integrity and accountability at the workplace.

Such initiatives by NTPC Bongaigaon not only enhance vigilance awareness among employees, associates, and students but also help nurture a culture of honesty, responsibility, and ethical conduct across the organization and community.
