Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) inaugurated the Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 on 27th October 2025 with the administration of the Integrity Pledge. At the program organized at WCL Headquarters, the Chief Guest, Shri J. P. Dwivedi, CMD, WCL, administered the Integrity Pledge to the employees.

New Delhi: Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) inaugurated the Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 on 27th October 2025 with the administration of the Integrity Pledge. At the program organized at WCL Headquarters, the Chief Guest, Shri J. P. Dwivedi, CMD, WCL, administered the Integrity Pledge to the employees.

On this occasion, Director (Finance) Shri Bikram Ghosh, Director (Human Resources) Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande, and Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhetre were prominently present.

Delivering the welcome address, Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhetre elaborated on the various activities being conducted as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025. He stated that integrity, transparency, and honesty are the core principles of WCL, and the Vigilance Department continuously strives to strengthen these values. He further informed that, as per the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission, a Special Vigilance Awareness Campaign focused on Preventive Vigilance is being conducted at WCL from 18th August to 17th November 2025. Under this campaign, work is being carried out on the timely disposal of pending complaints, capacity building, asset management, and digital reforms.

In his address, Chairman-cum-Managing Director Shri J. P. Dwivedi stated that honesty is an inseparable part of India’s culture, and it is only by adopting this principle that we can move forward. Referring to this year’s Vigilance Awareness Week theme, “Vigilance – A Shared Responsibility,” he emphasized that everyone should treat vigilance as their personal responsibility and contribute positively in this direction. He added that practicing transparency and honesty in daily operations not only ensures compliance with rules but also fulfills our duty towards the nation. He urged everyone to perform their duties conscientiously while upholding the principles of preventive vigilance.

On this occasion, the dignitaries inaugurated the Central Vigilance Awareness 2025 Gallery. Messages received for the occasion from Hon’ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Hon’ble Vice President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Minister of Coal and Mines Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Central Vigilance Commissioner Shri Praveen K. Srivastava, and Vigilance Commissioner Shri A. S. Rajeev were read out by General Manager (NI) Shri Deepak Revatkar, General Manager (Corporate Affairs) Shri Tarun Kumar Srivastava, General Manager (E&M) Shri Subrata Mohanty, General Manager (Marketing & Sales) Shri Anand Temburnikar, and General Manager (Civil) Shri O. V. Sujit Sen, respectively.

The event was attended by heads of departments, senior officials, and a large number of employees. It is noteworthy that various vigilance awareness programs and activities will be organized throughout the week at the company headquarters and its operational areas.
