NTPC Mining to Auction 1.4 Lakh Tonnes of Coal from Talaipalli Mine via MSTC

New Delhi: NTPC Mining Limited will conduct an e-auction for the sale of 1.4 lakh tonnes of coal from its Talaipalli Coal Mining Project in Chhattisgarh through MSTC Limited.

According to the auction catalogue released by MSTC, the coal will be offered on an “as is where is”, “as is what is” and “no complaint” basis from the coal stockyard of the Talaipalli Coal Mine located in Raigarh district.

The e-auction is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM on 20 March 2026 and close at 3:00 PM on the same day.

The lot includes 1,40,000 metric tonnes of coal with G-12 grade (3700–4000 Kcal/kg) and size up to –100 mm. The starting floor price has been fixed at ₹1,405 per metric tonne, with a bid increment of ₹20 per tonne.

Bidders will be required to deposit a pre-bid Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹500 per metric tonne to participate in the auction. The minimum bidding quantity is 500 tonnes, with additional bids allowed in multiples of 50 tonnes.

The coal will be dispatched from the Talaipalli Coal Mine stockyard in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, and the auction will be conducted through MSTC’s digital e-auction platform.

Officials from NTPC Mining Limited stated that the e-auction aims to facilitate transparent sale of coal and ensure efficient allocation of available coal resources to market participants.
