New Delhi, December 18, 2025 – Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has informed stock exchanges that its wholly owned subsidiary, POWERGRID Khavda II-B Transmission Limited, has successfully commissioned a major inter-state transmission project in Gujarat.

The project, titled “Transmission Scheme for Evacuation of 4.5 GW Renewable Energy Injection at Khavda Pooling Station under Phase-II, Part-B”, was awarded to the subsidiary through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB).

According to the company’s regulatory filing under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, the project has been fully commissioned with effect from December 13, 2025. The Notification for Commercial Operation (DOCO) was received on December 18, 2025.

The Khavda transmission project plays a critical role in strengthening India’s power grid infrastructure by enabling large-scale evacuation of renewable energy generated in the Khavda region, which is emerging as one of the country’s largest renewable energy hubs.

POWERGRID stated that the commissioning of the project reinforces its commitment to supporting India’s clean energy transition and ensuring reliable inter-state power transmission.
