RailTel receives a contract from IRCON International worth Rs 162.59 crore

State-owned IRCON International Ltd has awarded Rail PSU Stock, RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. a significant contract valued at Rs. 162.59 crore. The project involves putting in place general telecommunications and integrated tunnel communication systems for the Northeast Frontier Railway's Sivok–Rangpo New Broad Gauge Line.

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) zone governs the Sivok–Rangpo New Broad Gauge Rail Line project, which includes the contract. The line is essential for traversing challenging mountainous terrain to connect Sikkim and West Bengal. It is anticipated that RailTel will finish the project by March 28, 2026.
