RailTel Secures ₹17.02 Crore OFC Laying Order from IIT Delhi
New Delhi, February 26, 2026: RailTel Corporation of India Limited has secured a major domestic order from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) for the Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning (SITC) of underground optical fiber cable (OFC).
The company disclosed the development under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
Project Details
As per the work order, RailTel will undertake underground OFC laying from IIT Delhi to its Sonipat campus and from IIT Delhi campus to Greater Noida. The project also includes a six-year Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC).
The OFC laying work is scheduled to be completed within nine months, while the overall execution timeline extends up to February 24, 2032.
Order Value
The total size of the order stands at ₹17,02,24,928 (approximately ₹17.02 crore), making it a significant addition to RailTel’s order book in the telecom infrastructure segment.
The work order was received on February 25, 2026 at 5:30 PM.
Regulatory and Governance Disclosure
RailTel clarified that:
• The order has been awarded by a domestic entity.
• It does not fall under related party transactions.
• The promoter or promoter group has no interest in the awarding entity.
• There was no delay in reporting the development.
Strategic Significance
This order strengthens RailTel’s position in the optical fiber and digital infrastructure domain, particularly in the education and research sector. With increasing demand for high-speed connectivity across campuses and smart infrastructure projects, such contracts are expected to enhance RailTel’s long-term revenue visibility.
