New Delhi, 12 March 2026: The Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) has approved the extension of the deputation tenure of Manoj Kumar Pandey, an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE), currently serving at Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL).

According to an official order issued by the Railway Board, the deputation of Pandey—who previously served as Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (Sr. DEE) at Northern Railway—has been extended beyond February 27, 2026, which marked the completion of his sixth year on deputation.

Deputation Extended Until March 2, 2026

The order grants post facto approval for extending his tenure at Rail Vikas Nigam Limited as General Manager (Electrical) until March 2, 2026, or until the company receives exemption from the rule of immediate absorption, or until further orders—whichever occurs earlier.

Deputation Allowance Not Applicable Beyond Fifth Year

The Railway Board clarified that while the deputation continues on existing terms and conditions, Pandey will not be eligible to receive deputation (duty) allowance beyond the fifth year of his deputation period, in accordance with government rules.

Financial Vetting Completed

The extension order has been issued after vetting by the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways, ensuring compliance with applicable administrative and financial guidelines.

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, plays a key role in implementing railway infrastructure and capacity expansion projects across India.
