SJVN’s Nathpa Jhakri Sets New Single-Day Generation Record

Jhakri, September 7,  2026: SJVN’s 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station (NJHPS) has set a new single-day power generation record.

On 5 September 2026, the station generated 39.573 Million Units (MU) of electricity — the highest single-day output in its history. The achievement narrowly surpassed the previous record of 39.572 MU set on 13 August 2024.

Project Head Shri Rajeev Kapoor attributed the milestone to the commitment, technical efficiency, strong operational systems and team spirit of the officers and employees of NJHPS. He also expressed gratitude to SJVN’s Chairman and Managing Director Shri Bhupender Gupta for his continued guidance and support, and acknowledged the contribution of Director (Personnel) Shri Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Projects) Shri Rajesh Kumar Chandel and Director (Finance) Shri Parthajit De.

Director (Projects) Shri Rajesh Kumar Chandel was present on the occasion and congratulated the entire NJHPS team for the achievement. He encouraged the team to continue delivering excellent performance with the same dedication and commitment.

The record production once again highlights NJHPS’s important contribution to meeting the country’s growing energy requirements.
