Varanasi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) celebrated its annual Festival of Excellence with great enthusiasm. The company's 'Excel Awards' were presented to the talented employees in the celebration. Hon'ble Union Minister of Heavy Industries Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey graced the program with his dignified presence as the chief guest in this grand function and presented awards to the employees.

 

The Chairman and Managing Director of BHEL, Dr. Nalin Singhal, Directors of the Board of Directors, and other senior officers were also present on the occasion. In this program, senior officers of all the manufacturing units, divisions, and offices of the company located across the country joined online through video conferencing.

 

At the function, Dr. Pandey presented Excel awards to 12 teams of 65 employees (including 3 women employees) from various units of BHEL. Award of Excellence in these awards - for all-round excellence; Outstanding Technical Publication Award - for technical paper/booklet/book publication, Research Award - for R&D, Customer Satisfaction Award - for Customer Satisfaction, Productivity Award - for increasing productivity, Commitment Award - even in tough adversity For exemplary commitment to work; and Social Service Awards – Awards for outstanding contribution to the society. Hon'ble Minister was also present in Vishwakarma Puja organized in the shop floor of the manufacturing plant on the occasion of Vishwakarma Day.

 

Addressing the gathering, the Hon'ble Minister said that BHEL is always ready for all occasions. The company continues to demonstrate its commitment to various programs of the government, whether it is providing regular technical training to apprentices under the Skill India initiative or supporting the self-reliant India campaign under the 'Make in India' initiative. Be.

 

Dr. Pandey said that under 'Self-reliant India', BHEL can play an important role in the five pillars that the Hon'ble Prime Minister has prepared to strengthen the economy, infrastructure, system, demography, and demand. This is the 75th year of our independence and BHEL's significant participation in this 'Azadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav' is ensured. He said that apart from national security, it is our responsibility to pay attention to the environment and strengthen ourselves in the field of clean energy. In this direction, I appreciate the contribution being made by BHEL in the field of the development of non-conventional sources of energy.

BHEL's Excel Rewards Scheme is a unique PSU Rewards Scheme for all the employees of the Company. These awards are given in recognition of the all-around excellence and contribution made by the employees for the growth, profitability, customer satisfaction, and technological development of the company apart from exemplary achievements in sports, social or cultural activities, etc.

 

Under these awards, certain privileges are given to each team with a cash prize ranging from Rs.50,000/- to Rs.2,50,000/-. The scheme has a complex internal screening process for the selection of the awardees and the awardees are selected by an external jury.
