Vigilance Awareness Week 2025: Road Rally and Elocution at NIT Durgapur
As part of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 observance themed “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility,” the Vigilance Department of Durgapur Steel Plant, in collaboration with NIT Durgapur, organized a vibrant program on 18.10.2025. The event began with the flag-off of a road rally by the ACVO, DSP & ASP, from Durgapur Womens College premises to the NIT main gate. Students and employees participated enthusiastically, spreading awareness messages on integrity and vigilance.
At NIT Durgapur’s C.V. Raman Auditorium, the formal program commenced with lighting of the lamp and Citizen’s Pledge. Dignitaries including the Shri Surajit Mishra, Director In-charge (Burnpur & Durgapur Steel Plants); Smt. Sushmita Roy, ED (HR), DSP & ASP; and Director (NIT) Durgapur addressed the gathering, emphasizing ethical conduct and collective responsibility in building a corruption-free society.
This was followed by an inter college elocution competition engaging participants from various institutions in thought-provoking speeches on ethics and vigilance. The event concluded with a talk on professional ethics, prize distribution and the National Anthem marking a successful and inspiring observance of the day’s events.
